State media Public Service Media PSM has confirmed that one staff from the company has tested positive for Covid-19 as authorities scramble to identify the contacts of the individual.
Speaking to ‘The Press’ PSM Managing Director Ali Khalid confirmed that a staff from the state media had contracted Covid-19 and that the person worked in the technical pool that covered events held even at the National Emergency Operations Center NEOC.
Khalid also that the individual's positive result was confirmed yesterday and that contact tracing had revealed that the person had 8 contacts. He said these 8 contacts have now been instructed to self-isolate at home.
PSM Managing Director also confirmed that no place or building has yet been placed under monitoring following the confirmation of the positive case.
Reports say that the person was tested positive for Covid-19 after giving samples at a random test conducted on the streets of Male’ Area by the HPA. Reports also said that although the person had visited the NEOC, the Covid-19 crisis commander center is not currently under monitoring.
The positive staff works for Dhivehi Raajege Adu, the radio channel under PSM.
