Health Protection Agency HPA reports 29 cases of Covid-19 in the Maldives as 130 individuals recover from the illness today.

In a tweet, HPA said the 29 cases confirmed today include 1 Maldivian, 15 Bangladeshis, 9 Nepalese, 2 Indians, a Filipino and a person whose nationality was not specified.

Today’s positive cases take the total number of cases in the country to 2094.

Meanwhile, HPA also confirmed that 130 individuals have recovered from Covid-19 in the country.

HPA said that with this 1670 people have now recovered from the global pandemic in the country.

There are 414 active cases of Covid-19 in the country with 347 people still under isolation.

HPA had said that 331 people are still under quarantine at various facilities across the country.

Authorities have confirmed that the average number of new cases of Covid-19 in the past weeks has dropped and that the infection is now moving in a downward trajectory.

The Maldives has reported 8 Covid-19 deaths including 4 locals and 4 Bangladeshi nationals. The four locals include an 83-year-old woman, an-80-year old man, an 88-year-old man and 89-year old woman.
