Health Protection Agency HPA’s Medical Officer Dr. Fathimath Nazla Rafeeq says individuals who have tested positive for Covid-19 recently have made 6 to 7 visits to shops.
Speaking to the media last night, Dr. Nazla said the assessment of the current ease of the lockdown showed that some individuals viewed the ease as an indication that the danger of the outbreak is now completely over.
Dr. Nazla said while some individuals have been seen making crowds outside to have conversations other were visiting 6 to 7 shops in the space of two days.
She said once such an individual is tested positive, all these shops would be forced to close and disinfect before re-opening. Dr. Nazla also said that more people contact such individuals and that the authorities have noted the pattern.
Dr. Nazla urged the public to adhere to the recommendations and instruction by health experts as the country move the next phase of lockdown ease. She called on all to use facemasks and only make essential visits.
The Capital city is poised for a major ease of restrictive measures currently in place with individuals allowed outside without a police permit between 5 am to 10 pm every day.
