Health Protection Agency (HPA) of Maldives confirm discovery of 10 new positive cases of the viral Covid-19 disease.

According to the premier health agency of the country, that has been reporting of new cases and recoveries actively since the viral outbreak, the total number of cases have spiked to 2,013 with the new batch of cases.

Though the total number of cases have suprassed 2,000; the figure is inclusive of both recoveries and active cases.

Maldives now have a higher recovery figure compared to active cases.

On Saturday evening, the health authority reported the confirmation of 24 additional recoveries from the viral contagion adding into the total recoveries that have now surged to 1,217.

With this latest update, the recovery rate of Maldives was observed at 60.46 percent.

So far the island nation reported only 08 casualtied tied to the Covid-19 virus, making Maldives among the list of countries reporting the lowest death rate numbers related to the virus.
