The Ministry of Education have urged all local schools commence preparation to reopen the institutes.
All educational institutions were temporarily closed down due the abrupt and wide-scale spread of Covid-19 virus across Greater Male' Region and the Maldives itself.
A circular from the ministry, signed by Minister Dr. Aishath Ali commented several discussions taking place over reopening of schools.
Minister of Education further in the circular stated the government body held discussions with Health Protection Agency (HPA) prior to the decision, adding the preparations have commenced towards reopening schools once again.
Furthermore, the shifts and attendance will be decided by the authority based on the population of the islands and intensity of diseases in the community - to ensure contagions do not spread through contact.
Health Protection Agency will be confirming the date of reopening, according to the ministry.
Maldives government declared temporary closure of schools and educational institutions on 15 March due to the fast spread of the viral contagion.
