President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih meets Speaker of the parliament and former President Mohamed Nasheed amid the lockdown of the capital city as the nation fights the Covid-19 global pandemic.

In a tweet, President Solih said that he had a very engaging discussion with the speaker of the parliament.

He said that they discussed priorities and areas of focus in the government’s development agenda.

The President highlighted that the parliament is an important partner to achieve these goals and together the government and the parliament would work for all Maldivians.

In a tweet, Speaker of the parliament also spoke about the meeting with the president and about how they met several Maldivians making deliveries amid the lockdown of the capital City.

Nasheed noted those buying and delivering raw fish to customers during these difficult times and lauded their work.

Recently, the former president criticized President Solih for the lockdown of the Male’ Area as many from the islands were left stranded in the capital with little resources because of the lockdown.
