Head of the National Respiratory Department of IGMH hospital and the country's top Pulmonologist Dr. Moosa Hussain has denied reports that he had contracted the Covid-19 virus.

In a post on social media, Dr. Moosa denied the reports saying that he had not taken any Sample for Covid-19 so far.

He requested whoever had fabricated the false reports to remove it from the media and urged all not to share this wrong information on any social media platforms.

Dr. Moosa said that he would personally speak to the media regarding anything related to him.

The pulmonologist also urged those who use social media platforms to use these tools wisely and responsibly. He said that these platforms must not be used to spread false information about people and their work.

The reports circulating on the social media state that Dr. Moosa had Covid-19 antibodies in his bloodstream after the Health Protection Agency took a random sample of the doctor. Covid-19 antibodies form in patients who have contracted and recovered from the illness.

Speaking on the matter, the National Emergency Operations Center NEOC denied these reports and said such false news create apprehension among the general public.
