Health Protection Agency HPA confirms that more than 1000 Bangladeshi nationals have tested positive for Covid-19 in the Maldives.

The latest update on HPA’s Covid-19 dashboard shows that 1003 Bangladeshi nationals have tested positive for Covid-19 in the Maldives. This is 54.8 percent of the total number of cases in the country.

HPA confirmed that 56 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in the country yesterday out of which 29 were Bangladeshi nationals.

HPA had said that the total number of positive cases now stands at 1829 including 590 locals.

HPA said that 1333 cases were currently active while a total of 488 people have now recovered from the illness.

Six people have died of Covid-19 in the country, the latest a 54-year old Bangladeshi national who passed away yesterday while being treated at Treetop Hospital.
