Maldives National Defense Force Officers have assisted an ailing elderly woman in Male’ by helping bring the patient down three flights of stairs in her home.
In a tweet, MNDF said that officers from its fire and rescue department assisted the elderly woman in the early hours of the morning around 1:00 am after the person’s health condition deteriorated needing medical assistance.
Members of the armed forces have been actively involved in the fight against Covid-19 answering every call for help with gusto. MNDF officers were involved in delivering essential goods to households in Male’ area when the lockdown first went to effect with the delivery system yet to be established.
Additionally, MNDF is managing the isolation facilities and quarantine facilities established across the nation to host Covid-19 patients and suspected cases of Covid-19 in the country.
Authorities have confirmed that a number of MNDF officers have contracted the Covid-19 virus while on active duty on the frontlines in the fight against the global pandemic.
