Health Protection Agency HPA confirms 43 new cases of Covid-19 in the country.
In a tweet, HPA said that this includes 31 Bangladeshis, 9 Maldivians, and 3 Indians.
Earlier, National Emergency Operations Center Spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Azeez had also announced that 43 people had tested positive for Covid-19 in the Maldives.
This takes the total number of positive cases to 1438 in the Maldives including over 500 locals. The rest of the positive cases mostly include Bangladeshi nationals living in the country with over 700 tested positive for the virus in the Maldives. More than 140 Indians and 22 Nepalese nationals have also tested positive for Covid-19 in the Maldives.
The latest statistics show that over 232 people have now recovered from the virus in the Maldives.
Maldives has recorded five Covid-19 related deaths including 3 locals above the age of 80 years and two Bangladeshi nationals.
