Health Protection Agency HPA says 77 individuals have recovered from Covid-19 in the Maldives.
Speaking to local reporters, HPA epidemiologist Dr. Ibrahim Afzal said 46 individuals recovered yesterday alone.
He said that this includes 30 Bangladeshis, 10 Maldivians, 4 Indians, a Nepalese and a Sri Lankan national.
Dr. Afzal said 25 of these individuals were between the ages of 18 to 40 years and 11 individuals between 40 to 65 years also had recovered.
The number of recovered individuals in the Maldives has now reached a promising 232. But the country still has 1200 active cases of Covid-19 with a total of 1438 tested positive for the global pandemic in the island nation.
Five people have died of Covid-19 in the Maldives including three locals and two Bangladeshi nationals.
