National Emergency Operations Center NEOC spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Azeez says the state is hosting 2854 individuals in its quarantine and isolation facilities established to combat against Covid-19.
Updating the local media on the latest developments from the fight against global pandemic Covid-19, Mabrook said that 1178 individuals remain in the isolation facilities while a further 1676 individuals have been placed in the quarantine facilities.
Mabrook also said 128 people were released from the quarantine facilities within the last 24 hours. He clarified that these people have completed the mandatory 14-day quarantine period and have tested negative for the virus twice before release from the facility. Mabrook said samples have been taken from 60 others who are currently under quarantine.
The NEOC Spokesperson also said that 115 people visited the flu clinics set up across the nation in the last 24 hours and that Covid-19 samples were taken from 5 of those.
Health Protection Agency had said that 10 people had recovered from the virus yesterday while an additional 24 tested positive for the virus.
A total of 1395 people have now tested positive for Covid-19 in the Maldives.
