A local snorkeler who went on a snorkeling trip from Gaaf Dhaal atoll Gahdhoo has been reported dead amid trip.
The deceased's body have since been transported to Gahdhoo Health Center. The victim was pronounced dead on arrival at the center.
Maldives Police Service confirm they received report of the incident on Monday late afternoon around 16:00hrs.
Reports further claimed he had attempted to dive in order to catch bait for fishing. The deceased was found motionless underwater by his colleagues.
Local authorities further confirm the deceased has been identified as a 21 year old local male.
