A freighter from national airline Maldivian has arrived tonight with 7.5 tons of much needed essential supplies as the country’s fight against Covid-19 shows promising signs.
In a tweet, Maldivian said that its freighter landed at Velaana International Airport earlier tonight and that it carried 7835kgs of essential supplies.
It said that the company remained committed to securing deliveries of consumables and other supplies to the nation.
The national carrier has chartered its cargo flights to several countries including Thailand, Sri Lanka, and UAE as International supply chains have been thwarted amid the global Pandemic Covid-19.
Additionally, the airline has chartered flights to repatriate foreigners stranded in the Maldives amid the outbreak and arranged rescue flights to bring home locals stranded abroad.
