Maldives authorities confirm a total of 47 stranded Europeans and 190 Indonesians have flown back home.

The Maldives Immigration deparment confirmed the total 237 foreigners have safely embarked from the island nation.

Moreover, Immigration department further commented stating the stranded Europeans flying back home will travel via Colombo route.

The stranded Indonesians were repatraited back home from a rescue flight arranged by Indonesian government.

Maldives government have been actively working with respective foreign high commissions and embassies to repatriate stranded foreigners in the country as the country exercises temporary ban on international travel restrictions.

The island nation had imposed border closure following the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak in the country.
