NEOC spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Azeez confirms that one of the two missing Covid-19 patients has been found as authorities scramble to locate the migrant workers who had evaded authorities.

Speaking to the media, Mabrook said police have found one of the two infected migrant workers who evaded the authorities. He said the infected individual was found through the contact tracing of the two positive cases from the Villimale detention center.

Mabrook said the two individuals tested positive from the villimale detention center had shared living quarters with the individual who had evaded the authorities.

One infected migrant worker still remains at large.

A total of seven migrant workers infected with Covid-19 had evaded authorities and police apprehended four of them. One of them was discovered on Ventilator support at the Tree Top Hospital.

One of the remaining three was found on Monday while another was found yesterday.

HPA has previously said that it would publicize the personal information of the missing migrants under the powers vested to the Director-General of Public Health. HPA had said last night that it would only publicize the information once Police officials inform HPA on the matter.
