Health Protection Agency HPA reports 12 new cases of Covid-19 in the Maldives with authorities now claiming that the current surge of cases appears to have fallen.

In a tweet, HPA said 11 Maldivians and 1 Indian national had tested positive for the virus in the Maldives. This includes a 2-year-old local girl too.

The latest positive cases take the total number of positive cases to 1106.

Meanwhile, NEOC spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Azeez said last night that more positive results are expected as the pending laboratory results would be completed shortly.

Officials have confirmed that 74 individuals have recovered from Covid-19 in the Maldives while the country has recorded 4 deaths from Covid-19.

This includes an 83-year-old local woman, a 33-year-old Bangladeshi national, an 80-year-old local man, and an 88-year-old Maldivian man.
