Health authorities have confirmed the discovery of 51 additional cases of the Covid-19 virus.
During Wednesday evening's press briefing at National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC), Dr. Ibrahim Afzal had attested the development.
The latest positive cases include 26 Indians, 12 Maldivians, 11 Bangladeshis, 1 Sri Lankan and 1 Nepalese.
The total number of Covid-19 positive cases reported from Maldives had in turn hiked to 955.
The expatriate demographic shows higher number of positive cases compared to locals, as many of them reside withing cramped up living quarters enhancing chances for the disease to contract.
Total number of Bangladeshis testing positive for the virus have increased to 506 while local patients increased to 316.
However, on Wednesday, it was reported by authorities that 08 additional patients have made recoveries from the virus bringing down the active cases to 915.
