The first patient who contracted the Covid-19 virus from Haa Alif atoll Uligan has recovered as per latest updates.
The confirmation was corroborated by the constituency's lawmaker Ahmed Saleem on Tuesday as well.
The MP on Tuesday afternoon, updated on his Twitter handle stating the results showed the patient had tested negative for the virus. However, Health Protection Agency (HPA) has yet to announce an official confirmation.
MP Saleem was hopeful the pandemic will slow diffuse in Maldives, noting he hoped the crisis will slowly fade.
The first case from Uligan was reported on 19 April, marking the first positive case discovered in a locally inhabited island outside of Greater Male' Region.
As of 21:00hrs of 12 May, Tuesday the total number of confirmed cases in Maldives have risen to 904 with an additional 07 cases reported by HPA.
The authority noted 3 Bangladeshis, 2 Maldivians and 2 Indians were included in the batch.
