National Emergency Operations Center NEOC Spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Azeez says 35 individuals stranded in Ukraine have returned home yesterday.
Updating the media on the latest about the Covid-19 crisis, Mabrook said that 35 locals arrived in the Maldives on Friday.
Although Mabrook did not specifically say that the new arrivals were Maldivians, he had said last Monday that 32 Maldivian students stranded in the Ukraine is expected to return home.
The government is continuing its efforts to repatriate Maldivians stranded abroad amid the global pandemic Covid-19. Last week, 131 locals stuck in Thailand made their way back home.
The government had chartered rescue flights to India, Sri Lanka and Malaysia to bring back stranded Maldivians home.
