Health Protection Agency HPA confirms an additional 10 cases of Covid-19 in the Maldives.

In a tweet, HPA said 6 Bangladeshi nationals and 4 locals have tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday.

With this, 96 people were tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday alone.

HPA had confirmed that 744 people have now tested positive for Covid-19 in the country including 233 Maldivians and 510 foreigners. Most of the foreigners are Bangladeshi nationals with 416 of them tested positive for Covid-19 so far in the Maldives.

Authorities have said that 20 people have recovered from Covid-19 in the Maldives while three others have succumbed to the highly contagious illness.

Health experts have warned that the current surge of cases will peak by the months end with a total of 77,000 individuals expected to be infected with the virus at the end of the epidemic.
