National Emergency Operations Center Spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Azeez says Noonu Atoll Holhudhoo and Hebadhoo have been lifted from monitoring status.

He made this confirmation at the latest press briefing held to update the media on the latest developments of the Covid-19 crisis here in the Maldives.

While Male’ area remains under lockdown amid the community spread of the Covid-19 virus, 9 islands still remain under monitoring. This includes Kaafu Thulusdhoo, Narudhoo, Funadhoo, Milandhoo, Feevah and Maaungoodho from Shaviyani Atoll. Manadhoo from Noonu Atoll remains under monitoring too.

Sea vessels ‘Kaaviya’ boat and ‘Amaaz’ boat also remained under monitoring.

256 residential buildings have been placed under monitoring across the Maldives.

618 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the Maldives including 213 locals and 359 foreigners. Most of the foreigners tested in Maldives are Bangladeshi nationals working in the country. 324 Bangladeshis have tested positive for Covid-19 here in the Maldives.

20 people have recovered from the virus in the country while 2 others have succumbed to the global pandemic in the country.
