National Emergency Operation Center NEOC Spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Azeez says the Pakistani national currently admitted in Dharumavantha Hospital 11th floor DH11 had visited three hospitals before being tested positive for Covid-19.

Addressing local reporters, Mabrook said the 48-year-old Pakistani national had visited major hospitals in the Male’ area including Indhiraa Gandhi Memorial Hospital IGMH, ADK Hospital and Treetop hospital three days before the individual was tested positive for Covid-19.

Mabrook said the patient had sough consultation at ADK for running a fever and had contacted 8 individuals. Mabrook said these individuals were isolated and tested for the virus and the tests came back negative.

Mabrook explained that the patient went to the Treetop hospital in Hulhumale twice and had contacted 4 other during those visits. Mabrook said these 4 individuals were isolated and that their test samples were still pending.

The spokesperson said the Pakistani national visited IGMH too and that the person was tested positive for Covid-19 after tests at the hospital’s laboratory.

The individual has been admitted in the ICU unit after being tested positive for Covid-19. Health Officials have said that the person had required oxygen supply after being admitted on Monday.
