National Emergency Operations Center Spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Azeez says only one cabinet minister remains in isolation as a result of the current spread of Covid-19 in the country.
Updating local media on the latest developments on the crisis, Mabrook said three ministers had incidents relating to the spread of the virus.
Mabrook said one minister had met a secondary contact of a positive case of Covid-19 and that individual had shown symptoms of the illness. He said the Minister had stayed home in self-quarantine until the person was tested for the virus and the person had tested negative for Covid-19.
NEOC Spokesperson said the in the 2nd incident a residential building in which a minister lives was placed under monitoring. Mabrook clarified that although the case was not found in the apartment or floor of the building in which the minister lived, the minister is under home isolation as the whole building was placed under monitoring.
Explaining the third incident, Mabrook said a Minister had been ordered to stay in isolation after the minister visited Ihusaan Fihaara and the government official was currently in home isolation.
Earlier, Tourism Minister Ali Waheed said several cabinet ministers were under isolation.
