Tourism Minister Ali Waheed says some cabinet ministers have been placed under isolation after having contact with a direct contact of a positive case.
This is the first time government has revealed that cabinet ministers have been placed under isolation.
The Ministry did not divulge how many ministers or which ministers have been placed under isolation.
It has come to the knowledge of ‘The Press’ that the ministers have been in isolation for 12 days. These ministers have been actively involved in the fight against Covid-19 in the country with some working with tourists and expatriate workers. These Ministers have also visited several quarantine facilities and inspected operations at different facilities.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih had also took part in these ceremonies and these ministers are bound to take part in the high level discussions held in the presidential residence Muliaage with top officials from companies also participating in these frequent meetings.
