National Emergency Operations Center NEOC Spokesperson Mohamed Mabrouk Azeez says 170 individuals were released home from various quarantine facilities today.
Briefing the media on latest developments regarding Covid-19, Mabrouk said these 170 individuals were granted release upon the completion of the mandatory 14 days of quarantine and after they tested negative for Covid-19 virus.
Mabrouk also said that 1371 remained under quarantine at various facilities and that 140 people were kept under isolation at the different facilities in the country.
NEOC Spokesperson said a total of 5704 samples have been taken to test for Covid-19 with 5321 coming back negative and 141 positive results. He added that 242 samples remain pending in the laboratory.
HPA had placed several locations under monitoring for further investigations relating to Covid-19. This includes N. Holhudhoo and 5 islands from Shaviyani Atoll.
HPA had earlier reported that 13 people tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours in Maldives.
