The Health Protection Agency (HPA) of Maldives on Friday afternoon have confirmed discovery of 6 more positive cases to COVID-19 virus.

The agency confirmed the latest batch of disease contracted patients include 2 Maldivian locals, 2 Bangladeshi nationals one from Sri Lanka and another from India.

With this recent development in positive cases, the total number of cases discovered from Greater Male' Region since 15 April until current date have reached to 96.

Maldives have now reported a total of 116 positive cases (inclusive of the 16 recovery cases).

Since the discovery of the viral contagion from Male' City, the curve of spread greatly expanded amplifying the number of positive cases reported within the Male' area.

Meanwhile, the Greater Male' Region is observing a 14-day total lockdown period with excessive restrictions on public's movement outside their residencies and tenements.
