Health Protection Agency HPA says contact tracing for the MNDF officer tested positive for Covid-19 has revealed 41 contacts of the individual.
Addressing the media, HPA’s Dr. Afzal Ibrahim said the infected solider had been working on the frontlines of the fight against Covid-19 just like all other members of the armed forces.
Dr. Afzal said 41 contacts of the individual have so far been identified. He added that officials expected most of these contacts to be soldiers.
NEOC Spokesperson Mohamed Mabrouk Azeez had revealed that an MNDF officer was among the confirmed cases of Covid-19 yesterday.
He had also said that says a total of 1545 individuals have been identified through contact tracing of the positive cases of Covid-19 in the country so far.
Mabrouk said with the identification of the 1545 contacts, 193 building structures have now been placed under monitoring.
