NEOC Spokesperson Mohamed Mabrouk Azeez says a total of 1545 individuals have been identified through contact tracing of the positive cases of Covid-19 in the country so far as authorities warn of a surge of new cases to come.
Speaking to the media via web conference, Mabrouk said with the identification of the 1545 contacts, 193 building structures have now been placed under monitoring.
Mabrouk said today alone 43 buildings were placed under HPA monitoring as part of the precautionary measures taken to quell the outbreak of Covid-19 in the country.
NEOC spokesperson clarified that 160 individuals have placed under isolation in the facilities. He added that 1286 people are currently under quarantine at various facilities.
17 people tested positive for Covid-19 in Maldives today and all of the infected were from the capital Male’. A total of 84 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Maldives including 39 locals and 45 foreigners.
