Health Protection Agency HPA says two more positive cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Male’.
In a tweet, HPA said a Maldivian and a Bangladeshi national have tested positive for the global pandemic in the capital. This takes the total positive cases from Male’ to 49.
HPA said it was transporting the two new cases of Covid-19 to an isolation facility.
A total of 69 individuals have tested positive for Covid-19 in Maldives. The recent spike in positive cases came after a local woman tested positive for Covid-19 in Male’ on the 15th of this month.
Since then three confirmed separate clusters of cases have been reported in Male’ alone. Following this, Greater Male’ Region was placed under a 14 day lockdown with police taking stricter measures to enforce the order.
