Health Protection Agency HPA says a sample taken from a Maldivian national who was a direct contact of case 21 has tested positive for Covid-19.
In a Tweet, HPA said this is the 3rd person to test positive for the virus in Male'.
This is also the second direct contact of case 21 to test positive for Covid-19.
Earlier HPA had announced that a toddler had tested positive for the virus and the toddler is the child of case 21.
Case 21 was reported yesterday morning after a Maldivian national living in Male' was tested positive for Covid-19 having presented to Male' Flu Clinic with the virus like symptoms.
Authorities said the person have no recent travel history and had no direct contact with any individuals previously tested positive.
Male is currently under a 24hr lockdown following the confirmation of community spread of the highly contagious virus.
