Maldives Police Services says 182 individuals were listed on the 6th day of the curfew currently imposed in the greater Male’ region.
Health Protection Agency had earlier announced a 3-hour curfew on everyday, from 17:00hrs until 20:00hrs in efforts to mitigate the spread of Covid-19 into mainland areas. The curfew is being imposed in Male’, Villimale and Hulhumale.
Police said on Tuesday 182 individuals were halted by police and advised to remain indoors. Police said that these individuals include 153 Maldivians and 29 expatriates. Police added that these were first time violators.
Police said 2 individuals were advised to stay indoors for a second time on Tuesday. Police said no individuals were issued warnings or fined for violating the curfew.
Police had said before that individuals found in violation of the curfew will be fined with MVR1000 after the offense is repeated.
