Government Spokesperson on Covid-19 related updates Mr. Mohamed Mabrouk Azeez says a sample will be taken from a foreign National at Velassaru Resort.
Addressing the media, Mr. Mabrouk said the resort is under lockdown until further notice.
He added that the individual in question had shown covid-19 like symptoms.
Meanwhile a foreign national who worked in two resorts in Maldives have tested positive for Covid-19 having returned back home after the stint in Maldives.
Health Protection Agency said the individual worked in Joali Maldives resort and R. Bodufushi resort and these resorts are now under monitoring. The two resorts are under the same management.
Explaining this case further, Mr. Mabrouk said tonight that the individual traveled back on the 31st of March and was tested positive for the virus on the 6th of April. He said contact tracing was underway and it will determine if the individual contracted virus here in Maldives or not.
