Maldives Police Services says 141 individuals violated the curfew today.

Police said the 141 individuals were first time violators and were issued their first warnings. Police said 9 of these individuals violated the curfew twice today and so were issued their second warnings.

Police said that these included 119 Maldivians and 22foreigners.

Police said second and third warning issued would be counted starting from 2nd of April. It said violators would be fined by 1000 rufiyaa after their third verbal warning.

A total of 520 individuals have been warned for violations in three days of curfew. No individual has yet faced a fine for violating the curfew.

HPA issued a curfew order earlier this week saying that a curfew would be imposed in the Greater Male’ Area, including Male’, Villimale and Hulhumale’, from 5pm to 8pm everyday. HPA said public transports; including bus and ferry services would also be suspended during the curfew.
