Maldives Police Services says it’s officers warned 95 individuals who violated the curfew order that went into place this evening.
Health Protection Agency HPA announced on Wednesday that a 3-hour- curfew would be imposed on the greater Male’ Area, including Male’, Villimale and Hulhumale everyday from 5pm to 8pm effective Thursday.
Police said 95 individuals, found violating the curfew order were issued warnings today.
It said these include 13 foreigners and 82 Maldivian nationals.
Police had said earlier that all those found violating HPA’s curfew order would be held accountable.
It said such violators would first be verbally advised and if the violation were repeated the individual would be fined by an amount of 1000 MRF.
HPA issued the curfew order came under the vested authority to Director General of Public Health Maimoona Aboobakuru in accordance to the Public Health Act with the government announcing a state of public health emergency to fight global Pandemic Covid-19.
