Maldives Police claims the individual who was aground at a Male' City street on Saturday evening was not a suspected case for COVID-19 virus.
Police confirmed they received the report of an individual who fell on the ground at Koaru-Kendu Magu, Male' City sometime at Saturday evening, adding authorities had rushed to the area immediately.
Local authorities identified the agrounded victim as a 25 year old local woman, further adding that she was reportedly getting 'spiritual healing' for what was reported by once source as a supernatural ailment.
Meanwhile, other sources have suggested that she may in fact be suffering from pyschological issues and was in need of treatment.
Police had assisted the local woman to reach to her residence at the ninth floor of the building in front of which she had fallen.
Meanwhile, unattested posts about the incident went viral on social media on Saturday evening with some claiming the individual was a suspected COVID-19 case.
As of late, the public fear has become apparent in light of the rapidly spreading viral disease. Many unrelated incidents have become associated to the virus via speculation.
