Health authorities on Thursday have confirmed one more individual getting treatment after contracting the COVID-19 virus, has recovered.
Reports confirm the individual was receiving treatment at Dharumavantha Hospital, Male' City.
Initially Maldives confirmed a total of 13 positive cases of the virus, with the first confirmed cases reported from Kuredu Island Resort.
The total confirmed cases from the resort eventually rose to a total of 5 while several other properties confirmed discovery of individuals with the viral disease.
All cases were reported from foreigners and were discovered from tourist venues, which includes Sandies Bathala, Kuramathi Island Resort, Anantara Dhigu along with Kuredu Island Resort.
Meanwhile, Maldives has declared a State of Public Health Emergency which intially ran for a duration of 30 days and has since been extended by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih until 02 April 2020.
Moreover, the island nation's capital city; Male' along with close proximity islands that make up the Greater Male' Region have been exercising a semi-lockdown scenario with government institutions closed as well most cafes and restaurants restricted from conducting business.
