Official government spokesperson on Covid-19 says news about the Maldivian who was tested positive for Covid-19 in UAE is expected later today.
Speaking to the media today at Dharubaaruge Spokesperson Mabrouk Azeez said, although it has been reported that a Maldivian has tested positive for Covid-19 in UAE, the government can only confirm once the government of UAE gives an official statement addressed to the Maldivian government.
He added that such a statement is expected later today.
Earlier this week UAE media reported that a Maldivian national was among the 50 individuals tested positive for Covid-19. UAE’ ministry of health released a statement confirming that a Maldivian was tested for the highly contagious virus.
Thirteen people have now tested positive for Covid-19 in Maldives with 8 of them now declared free of the virus. All those tested positive for Covid-19 here in Maldives are foreign national.
