Maldives Police Service is currently investigating a group altercation case that took place on a road of Male' City - Maldives capital.
The local law enforcement confirms they received the report of a group of 4 individuals physically assaulting a lone individual on a motorized vehicle, who was riding through the city's main road.
Police further claimed they received the assault report around 11:07hrs on Tuesday, 17 March 2020, morning.
A local had captured the incident on video and shared it on social media which has since gone viral.
The now viral video shows, two motorbikes on the ground while four yet to be identified individuals were kicking a lone individual who had fallen on the ground. The victim was seen attempting to block the beatings.
Moreover, the video also shows no one had attempted to stop the assault despite multiple witnesses and several passerby vehicles came across the point of incidence.
Though local police arrived shortly after the assault took place and the perpetrators fled the scene, authorities are investigating the matter for details.
