The Maldives official reserve observed a modest improvement by 3% in the month of January 2020 according to Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA).

According the central bank's economic updates, the official reserve was valued at USD753 million by the end of December 2019. However, at the end of January it was recorded at USD776.6 million with a moderate upward movement.

Meanwhile, it was recorded the usable reserves had improved significantly up to USD316 million at the end of December 2019, which marks a 12% improvement from USD236 million at the corresponding month in 2018.

As per the official state budget of Maldives, approved by the country's Parliament, the official reserve will touch USD818.8 million by the end of 2020's fiscal run.
