The Maldives has now become utilized in screening and testing for presence of COVID-19 virus.
World Health Organization (WHO) on Thursday, 20 February had provided Maldivian government with the test-kits to quarantine for the presence of COVID-19 viral strand in individuals.
The test kits were presented by WHO representative to Maldives, Mr. Arvind Mathur which were received by Minister of Health Mr. Abdulla Ameen.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) of Maldives confirmed on its official Twitter handle, a total of 10 lab testing kits were handed by WHO to Maldives state which are capable of running 1,000 tests.
Ministry of Health confirmed individuals can test for the presence of the new strand of coronavirus at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) from today onwards.
