The Maldives Ministry of Finance has announced seeking interested builders to contract the development and deliverance of high speed sea vessels.

The Ministry is seeking capable parties to design, develop and deliver a total of 14 high speed vessels to integrate them into the nationwide transport system.

On a request from Ministry of National Planning and Infrastructure, the Ministry of Finance announced interested parties to submit their "expression of interest" before 25 February.

Interested parties must provide valid documentation proving their caliber and capacity to deliver the end product as required.

Ministry of Finance further notified, only the shortlisted parties will be provided with the opportunity to present their proposal bids.

The procurement for 14 high speed vessels, as part of the incumbent government to initiate a faster transportation system across the country, was confirmed by Minister of National Planning and Infrastructure Mr Mohamed Aslam earlier at the "Thiladhunmathi Iruvai Conference."

To ensure sustainability of the new transport system, the project will initiate at the three nothern-most atolls of Haa Alif, Haa Dhaal and Shaviyani.

The project will enter a six-month induction period with the state institutions affiliated with the transportation closely monitoring the process and operation.

Following this period, government will be bringing necessary changes to areas of improvement.
