An elderly local man was discovered lifeless at the lagoon of Dhaal atoll Meedhoo on Monday afternoon.
Maldives Police Service reported that the family had discovered the deceased's body from the island's lagoon after he was late in returning home after the noon prayers.
Police confirmed they received the incident's report around 13:30hrs on Monday afternoon.
Moreover, Police confirmed the 83-year old elderly local was dead before he was taken to the island's Health Center; and the consulting doctor who diagnosed the deceased confirmed the same as well.
Meanwhile, local police was probing into the incident's occurence.
While an elderly man was found dead at Meedhoo, on 23 January another local, aged 56 years was discovered from Kudahuvadhoo of the same atoll.
In recent months, deaths at the sea have been reported at an alarming rate which included a 23 year old drowning at Madivaru lagoon in the previous week.
