The Maldives official state media, Public Service Media (PSM), on Friday evening announced the launch of internationally hit culinary challenge MasterChef in the island nation.
The state media announced the debut of MasterChef in Maldives following a deal with Endemol Shine.
With this, Maldives has entered as the 63rd destination to produce their local version of the popular culinary challenge format.
As per the media, PSM has commissioned a 20-episode series due premeiring across primetime slots in September 2020 - expectedly.
"There is a tremendous array of culinary talent here in the Maldives and we are excited to see how these inspired, youthful, amateur chefs fare with the television audience," Ali Khalid, the media's Managing Director commented.
"MasterChef is renowned for its excellent ratings and we are delighted to have this long-running global hit franchise on our network," he added.
At the official launching of the MasterChef Maldives edition, the major sponsors were announced as well.
The country's largest telecom provider, Dhiraagu stepped in as the title sponsor with State Trading Organization (STO), Villa College and Bank of Maldives (BML) signing up other prominent sponsorship arrangements.
