Maldives President on Sunday, has appointed the new Chief Justice and Supreme Court Justice.
In a special function on Sunday afternoon, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih appointed Ahmed Mu'uthasim Adnan as the new Chief Justice of Maldives.
In addition to this, Maldives head of state had appointed Husnu Suood as the new Justice of the Maldives apex court.
President Solih appointed the new Chief Justice under Article 147 of Maldives Constitution.
The new Chief Justice of Maldives, Ahmed Mu'uthasim Adnan had previously worked as a Supreme Court Justice from 2010 until 2014.
Chief Justice Adnan has completed his Masters of Philosophy in Trans National Commercial Law at Glasgow University, England.
Moreover, he had completed his Bachelors of Law at Buckingham University, England.
The new Chief Justice of Maldives was sworn in by Supreme Court Justice Husnu Suood during Sunday's reception.
The new apex court Justice was appointed to the designation by Maldives president under Section (1) of Artcle 148 of Maldives Constitution.
Supreme Court's newest Justice Husnu Suood had read his Masters of Law at Queensland University, Australia.
In addition to this, Justice Suood attained an Honor's Degree in Bachelors of Law at International Islamic University, Malaysia.
Before being appointed as the new Justice of Maldives apex court, Suood filled the Chairman position at the Commission of Deaths and Disappearances.
The apex court judge was sworn into his position by his colleague, Supreme Court Justice Dr Azmiralda Zahir.
